hello!
so this past week I was coaching basketball here at Word of Life Hungary with Hari and Eszter (hungarians). The first four weeks are children camps (ages 6/7-13) and it's really a challenge because I'm sure many of you know that kids at that age are everywhere and need something to always occupy them! It was alot of fun and my hungarian speaking skills were definitely challenged. The first day the kids were a little impatient with my hungarian but during the whole week they got used to me and were such good sports. They were such awesome kids, but of course every group has to have a rebel. This week it was a young girl named Klaudia. She is such a wonderful person, however she's been through so much growing up. I do not know her whole story but I know that she grew up in a bad family atmosphere. When one-on-one with her she is a lot more patient and doesn't try to act tough around the other kids. She was the oldest in our Basketball group and so it was a little harder for her to fit in. I have heard that she has accepted Christ as her Savior before but apparently now she doesn't remember doing so. I'm thinking maybe she didn't make a decision but just went up. It's hard to tell. also, who am i and who are we to judge if someone is a child of God or not? But, seeing how she acts with others and just in general her conversations and things I'm assuming she's not a Christian. Please pray that she finds peace and joy in the Lord and trusts her whole life to Him.
Here at WOL there are different kind of helpers, there are kitchen workers, counselors, program leaders and people like me who are helper coaches and coaches. The coaches like me have to work certain hours of cleaning around the castle and property when we are not coaching, however I am blessed and speak hungarian and english (of course. hehe) and so I was asked to help in Reception! I worked for a certain amount of hours once last week in cleaning and "joker work" around the castle (housekeeping) and the other times i was in reception! Every week I get a day off as well so that is nice. My off day for last week was thursday and my off day for this coming week was Saturday. so, i've found out that my weeks start on Saturdays (very interesting).
Yesterday, because it was my off day I went to Budapest with my new american friend Jonathan Jung (from kansas and came to help with the music for the children's camps) and old german friend Julian Kramer(intern this past year) . It was really cool, we went shopping mainly for Jonathan. :) He wanted to get some new clothes and I got to pick them out, cause I know European style more than him. Yesterday was tiring but it was alot of fun, and I would definitely love to go to Budapest again with those guys and we are hoping to go again, but this time with my best friend Miri! (she was a german intern this past year at WOL and is now coming back in the fall for Bible School year 1!)
Hope that is good for now!!
I might write during the week if I have time, but I am making sure I write at least once on the weekends to sum up the week!! :)
God Bless + LOVE,
Rachael
